The most important part of your email to get more opens

Brace yourself, this may not be what you expect.

No matter who I talk to about using email, the immediate goal is usually sales.

“Can you write me an email campaign that will generate me more sales?”

Of course, the answer is yes.

I can absolutely cannibalize your list, destroy your credibility, and make a couple of nickels that you can rub together.

Of course, I’m exaggerating a little bit…but you get the point, right?

You can’t swing a stick without people telling you that the “money is in the list”.

And while that’s true, it’s not because you have a list.

It’s because you have an audience!

Like any audience, they’re there because they want to be…

Like any audience, if you treat them poorly…they will leave.

For most of my clients they need to balance the need to make sales and keep the lights on with taking care of their audience (delivering sales).

This is a myth.

The fact is, you build relationships with people, and that comes through personality.

The fastest way to drive someone away is to either go full corporate on them, or not help them accomplish what you said would.

The common denominator?


So, don’t worry about making an offer in every email…because most people aren’t reading every one anyway.

And stop trying to be perfect.  Write, communicate, share, and be yourself.

As an expert, people want more than just your product or service.

So, use your personality and have fun with it.

Oh, and that “most important part of your email”…
