I’m thankful for the little things that are so easy to overlook,
Those little frustrations that impact much more than they should.
I’m thankful for the breath I take, the days I take for granted.
For the feelings of happiness, yes, even when I’m frantic.
I’m thankful for the friends I have, even those I never see,
And for the people who use kind words, and do it naturally.
I’m thankful for the hair I’ve lost and the aches and pains,
The chaos, traffic, and other 1st world problems; I better not complain.
Then there are the books I read, the Holy and the fun,
Who along with my family, keep me always young.
I’m grateful to be a husband, a dad, and a friend.
And for my health, the crazy energy I need just to contend.
I’m thankful that I’m grateful, and recognize there’s more to go.
And I give praise to the Lord, who makes all this possible.
